Dimapur, May 15 (EMN): The Chieswema battalion of the Assam Rifles organised a seminar on the topical theme ‘Say no to drugs and HIV/AIDS,’ at the government middle school at Zeizou, in Chiephobozou subdivision on May 7.
During the programme, a lecture was delivered by medical staffers about the ill effects of drugs on the human body. The gathering was also told about the need to generate publicity among school children and teachers.
Thirty seven children including five teaching staff attended the programme. The lecture was followed by distribution of sweets and writing materials to all the students and teachers of the school, it was informed.
In a separate programme, the Kohima battalion of the Assam Rifles organised another lecture on the topic “options of joining the Indian Army” at Don Bosco School in Kohima, on May 7.
Four teachers along with 200 students attended the programme, updates informed. Students were briefed about the opportunities from joining the Indian army after they complete class-12 and graduate studies.
The gathering was also given a briefing about eligibility criteria such as age, qualification, and physical standards, the updates informed. Likewise, they were informed about different entry schemes for women besides technical entries.
