Dimapur, June 5 (EMN): Responding to news report regarding an operation conducted at Jotsoma on June 2/3 by the Assam Rifles wherein a large cache of weapons, foreign currency and war like stores were recovered, the Assam Rifles today clarified that the operation was carried out along with Nagaland police and in presence of local witness.
The Assam Rifles press release clarified that there was no ransacking done nor the search party carried out search at any girl’s hostel. Further, it claimed that there was no mistreatment or harm caused to any of the family member.
It stated that there was no damage or harassment caused to anyone during the search operation.
While denying the charges as false and baseless, the Assam Rifles has termed it as a deliberate attempt to malign the image of the organisation.
