Dimapur, April 18 (EMN): A combined team of 9 Assam Rifles and State police conducted a search operation at Botsa village on April 17 and led to recovery of illegal arms from the possession of one person.
Assam Rifles press release said the operation was launched basing on specific input about the presence of illegal weapons at residence of Khrievotso of Botsa village. During the search, four point 22 rifles were found from the house. In this connection one Khrievotsa was arrested and handed over to Chiephobozou Police Station for further investigation.
In a separate programme, troops of 36 Assam Rifles under aegis of Headquarters IGAR (N) conducted an interaction with GBs of Pedi in Peren district on April 17. The interaction programme was held with an aim to address the concern of the villagers and providing avenues for better living.
Issues including development projects, creation of Jan Dhan accounts and Aadhar cards and upcoming army recruitment rally were discussed during the interaction.
A total of 18 GBs attended the said event.
