Dimapur, Nov. 1 (EMN): Jalukie battalion of the Assam Rifles organised a ‘Gaonbura conclave’ at Jalukie on October 30. The aim of the event, according to a defence release, was to discuss various issues related to education, job opportunities, health and social awareness, government schemes and modern farming needs.
It stated that various insights on the prevailing situation and requirement for the welfare of the residents were discussed. A total of 48 functionaries attended the event. A similar event was also organised in Tening on October 31 with the participation of 18 GBs.
In a separate programme, Mokokchung battalion of the Assam Rifles organised a ‘Run for unity’ event on the occasion of ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ jointly with Mokokchung police in Mokokchung town on October 31. The event was organised to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was instrumental in unifying Indian states in the current geopolitical configuration.
The run was flagged-off by Commandant of Mokokchung Battalion and SP, Mokokchung. All ranks of Assam Rifles, Mokokchung police and personnel from NAGA TA along with youth of Mokokchung town took part in the run.
The event culminated with the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge to preserve unity, integrity and security of the nation.
