Assam Rifles observed Anti Terrorism Day.[/caption]
Dimapur, May 21 (EMN): Anti-Terrorism Day was observed by 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) at Keithelmanbi, Manipur on May 20. All Officers, JCOs and personnel of Assam Rifles took a pledge to ‘oppose all forms of terrorism’ stated a press note. The security personnel pledged to ‘uphold and promote peace, social harmony and understanding among all fellow human beings and fight against the disruptive forces which threaten human lives and values’. The event was aimed as raising awareness on the destructive consequences of terrorism on mankind. Anti-Terrorism Day is observed to commemorate the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

In another similar endeavour, Assam Rifles Public School, Mantripukhri, Manipur observed the Anti Terrorism Day on May 20 with the theme ‘Anti Terrorism’. To commemorate the occasion, the school organised drawing competition for students of Classes I to V, slogan writing competition for students of classes VI to VIII and debate competition for classes IX to XII. Each of the events brought out the students creativity and saw enthusiastic participation. The winners were felicitated by the Principal, Alka Jain. The day ended with staff and students pledging to spread the message of global peace and shun and eradicate the menace of violence and terror.
