Dimapur, April 6 EMN): The Mon Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR North) conducted an operation along with a police representative at BP 151 area, Chenmoho in Mon on April 2.
During the operation, it was informed that the team apprehended one NSCN (K) cadre identified as Nokpho Konyak (37 yrs), son of Manbo Konyak, resident of Choknyu village of Mon district.
The individual revealed that he was carrying the opium strips for NSCN (K) cadres at Shwelo and had been working as an ‘over-ground’ for the group, the press release stated.
According to a press release from the authority, 30 kani, 29 opium flowers, one mobile phone and INR 3000 were found from his possession.
The individual along with impounded items was handed over to Mon Police Station for further investigation.
