Dimapur, Jan. 23: A combined team of 5 and 40 Assam Rifles along with Nagaland police arrested one alleged NSCN (K) from Longkhim town on January 23 in a joint operation.
Assam Rifles statement said the operation was carried out based on regular inputs about the presence of the cadre to target security force convoys on Tuensang-Mokokchung road during Republic Day celebrations.
The individual was identified as ‘SS’ Lieutenant Yantril Sangtam of Chimonger village under Tuensang district. The combined team recovered an IED with a detonator, a reserve detonator and one .22 pistol with four live rounds from his possession.
It added that the individual was handed over to the Tuensang Police Station.
