AR nabs NSCN (IM) cadre

Dimapur, Jan. 25 (EMN): In a run-up to the 68th Republic Day celebration, security forces have arrested one ‘ss’ private and rajupeyu of NSCN (IM) identified as Kuhang Songthing on January 25 during a search operation from Longpha village under Changlang district in Arunachal Pradesh. According to security forces press release, Kuhang Songthing was arrested basing on specific information regarding the presence of underground cadre trying to terrorise and extort money in Longpha village. The cadre was arrested by Changlang battalion of the Assam Rifles. The troops recovered a single bore rifle, ledger containing extortion details, extortion slips and other incriminating evidence from his possession. During interrogation, he admitted collecting extortion in the area.
