Dimapur, Mar. 5 (EMN): The Medziphema battalion of the Assam Rifles have arrested two persons who have been accused as ‘arms fabricators.’ They are stated to have been apprehended along with ‘huge quantity of weapons, ammunitions and manufacturing tools,’ from Chumoukedima area on Mar. 5.
The persons were apprehended during an operation undertaken by the joint team of the Assam Rifles and the Nagaland police representative following specific intelligent inputs regarding the presence of an illegal arms manufacturer in general area in Chumoukedima, Dimapur, on Mar. 5.
The accused persons were identified as Takotoshi (61) and Temjin (35), both from Sungratsu village and resident of Ward No 3, Chumoukedima, Dimapur.
The joint team recovered one 9mm revolver (USA made), one 12 Bore Rifle, one .22 mm Rifle, four .22 mm rifles, four magazines of .22mm rifle, eight wooden rifle butts, one rifle barrel and ammunitions of various calibers.
A security forces’ press release informed that the arrested persons and the confiscated items were handed over to Chumoukedima Police Station for further investigation.
