Dimapur, June 23 (EMN): Basing on specific intelligence inputs, Assam Rifles personnel from the Medziphema battalion have arrested three NDFB (S) cadres from the Jharnapani area on June 22.
The cadres have been identified as Somar Basumatry (30), son of Rwda Basumatry Bishmuri village in Kokrajhar (Assam), Nipen Narzary (30), son of Dhiresh Narzary of Simalguri village in Chirang district (Assam), and Rajesh Narzary (23), son of Bisaram Narzary of Aie Nodi village in Dhubri Part-I in Chirang district (Assam).
The Assam Rifles press release stated that the troops recovered one point 32 pistol with magazine and four live rounds of point 22 pistol from their possession.
Based on follow up inputs, an operation was further launched in general area Dimapur railway station wherein two cadres of NSCN (KN) were arrested alongwith incriminating documents. The cadres were identified as Yingcha Konyak (37), son of Tonwang Konyak Chenwangte village in Mon district, and Khamkuk Konyak (37), son of Awe Konyak of Chenmu village in Mon district.
The release further stated that accused alongwith with the seized arms, ammunition and other incriminating materials were handed over to Medziphema police station for further investigation.
