AR lights a candle against drugs abuse, HIV and AIDS

Dimapur, April 5 (EMN): The Phek Battalion of the Assam Rifles conducted a candlelight march on April 4 in Phek. The theme of the event was ‘say no to drugs and HIV and AIDS,’ a press release from the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (IGAR; north) informed about the event on Thursday. According to the update, five officers, 20 junior commissioned officers, and 66 other personnel of the Assam Rifles and 486 civilians including 200 youths and 286 students from Phek town participated in the event. The aim of the candle march was to educate the youth about the ill effects of drugs abuse on their health; and the menace of HIV and AIDS. The march started from the DC ground at Phek town and culminated at the Assam Rifles’ battalion headquarters, the information added.
