Dimapur, Aug. 4 (EMN): The Phek Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) conducted a meeting on August 3 with village guards and village leaders at Ziphu in Phek.
A press release from the IGAR (north) on Saturday has informed that the aim of the interaction was to address issues pertaining illegal activities which are a threat to security and the need to be alert for the upcoming Independence Day celebration.
They were also asked to report any untoward incident resulting out of incessant rainfall. The village guards assured of full cooperation and support in furtherance of peace and security in the district. 40 people attended the meeting, the press release added.
Also, the Chieswema Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (north) conducted an interaction program at Pfutsero in Phek on Aug. 3.
A press release from the IGAR (north) stated, ‘it was jointly resolved that the local population will support and assist to promptly report any event of illegal activities in and around Pfutsero and adjoining villages.’
21 village heads from Khezakheno, Pfutsero, Zapami, Lesumi, Phesachudama, Tsupfume, Mesulumi, and Zelomi Village under Pfutsero sub-division of Phek district attended the event.
