Kasom Khullen sub-division
Standing true to their Motto of “Friends of the North East People”, 17 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) distributed solar lamps to the border villages of Kasom Khullen sub-division.
A press note mentions that huge participation from the villages of Bungdung, Punamram, Kasong, Namlee, Makan and NambashiKhullen were witnessed during the programme.
The release further mentions that these border villages had no electricity and expressed their gratitude for the pre-Christmas gift offered to the villagers.
The villagers assured their unflinching support to Assam Rifles in future also in order to maintain peace in the region, stated the release.
The event is said to have been attended by youths and ladies of the border villages.
Three schools of the sub-division, namely Bungdung High School, Kasong High School and NambashiKhullen High School were also gifted with stationery, books and reading materials while the youths were presented with volleyball and football to engage them in constructive activities.
The general populace expressed their happiness and good wishes and wished IGAR(South) a Merry Christmas and prayed together for the well-being of the Assam Rifles personnel.
Phungcham, Chingai Block and Ukhrul
In pursuance of the effort to lighten up the villagers residing in extremely remote areas, the 27 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under aegis of IGAR (South) presented portable solar lamps to the villages of Phungcham, Chingai Block and Ukhrul, stated a release.
Kazaching Horam, village headman, heartily appreciated the genuine welfare oriented gesture and conveyed gratitude to Assam Rifles on behalf of all the villagers.
