Dimapur, Dec. 15 (EMN): A total of 185 have availed medical facilities provided by the Chiswema battalion of Assam Rifles during a free medical camp conducted on December 14 in Razeba village in Pfutsero sub-division under Phek district.
The aim of the medical camp was to provide free medical treatment to the local residents of remote areas devoid of requisite medical facilities. The camp was attended by residents from Razeba and adjoining villages of Tsupfeme, Zhamai and Chobama. A specially constituted medical team comprising two doctors and four medical staff under chief medical officer conducted the medical camp.
The beneficiaries included 62 male, 75 female and 48 children.
In a related programme, Chieswema battalion of Assam Rifles conducted a free medical camp at Menyetsuba colony in Pfutsero sub-division under Phek district on December 15.

Besides residents from Menyetsuba, people from adjoining villages attended the medical camp. The aim of the medical camp was to provide free medical treatment to the local residents of remote areas devoid of requisite medical facilities.
Apart from providing medical assistance, basic knowledge on health education including precaution from common viral diseases was also imparted. Altogether 124 patients including 42 male, 58 female and 24 children were examined and treated.
In a separate programme, Wokha battalion of the Assam Rifles conducted a lecture on skill development on the theme ‘Today’s youth, tomorrow future’ in Bhandari on December 15.
The lecture covered details of various employment options available for youth in the state and central government departments. Information on latest government schemes for business start-ups and list of skill development institutes in Nagaland were also covered.
Altogether 20 youth attended the lecture.
