Dimapur, June 18 (EMN): 36 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters IGAR (N), in collaboration with Peren district medical authorities and Innovative Society, organised an awareness camp on HIV/ AIDS at Jalukie, on June 17.
The camp aimed to spread awareness about HIV/ AIDS amongst youth and locals of Jalukie and neighbouring villages.
Lecture on causes of spread, preventive measure and stigma attached to HIV/ AIDS were delivered, followed by medical screening of volunteers and distribution of leaflets on precautions & cures.
The programme was attended by 87 youth and locals from Jalukie and neighbouring villages.
9 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter IGAR (North), in association with Kripa Foundation organised a seminar cum workshop on Anti Drug and HIV/AIDS campaign on June 15 at Don Bosco School, Chiephobozou. The workshop focused on awareness on HIV/AIDS and drug abuse.
Senior Counselor, Kripa Foundation, Tribhuban Lama, educated the youth about substance abuse on drug, alcohol and narcotics while Coordinator, RRTC Kripa Foundation, Bendang Imsong highlighted the negative impact of HIV/AIDS.
32 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) conducted a lecture on HIV/AIDS awareness at Burma Camp, Dimapur on June 16. The lecture focused on causes of spread of HIV/AIDS, preventive measures and stigmas.
35 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) organised a lecture cum awareness programme on HIV/AIDS at St. John High School, Mon on June 15. Capt Dr. Tejesh BS apprised the youth about the facilities available in Government Hospitals regarding free HIV tests and medication.
28 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised a lecture on drug abuse at Don Bosco School, Tseminyu on June 15 to provide general awareness to students and teachers on the ill effects of drugs.
Deputy Commandant, M N Khama highlighted the menace and consequences of drug abuse in Nagaland especially amongst the youth and adolescents.
