Dimapur, June 21 (EMN): The Assam Rifles of HQ DGAR conducted a mass yoga demonstration its sports complex at Laitkor in Shillong on Thursday to commemorate the 4th International Day of Yoga. A press release from the Assam Rifles informed on June 21 Thursday.
According to the release, the Assam Rifles was nominated as nodal centre of Central Armed Police Forces by the ministry of Home Affairs for conducting Yoga celebrations at Shillong. Yoga instructors from Patanjali Yogpeeth and Assam Rifles Training Centre and School conducted the yoga session. Personnel from Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, and Central Industrial Security Force besides officers and troops of Assam Rifles participated in the event.
The Assam Rifles also conducted Yoga session for students and National Cadet Corps of Assam Rifles Public School at the school premises at Laitkor. It was conducted with an aim to inculcate a habit of yoga as part of daily regime among the youth, it added.
