Dimapur, March 24 (EMN): The Assam Rifles celebrated its 183rd Raising Day at HQ Director General Assam Rifles (DGAR), Laitkor in Shillong on March 24.
A press release issued by the Assam Rifles on March 24 mentioned that the glorious occasion was marked with a wreath laying ceremony by DGAR Lieutenant General ShokinChauhan, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSMat Assam Rifles at the war memorial to pay homage to the martyrs who had sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
The ceremony was followed by a SainikSammelan where the director general addressed all ranks of Assam Rifles.
The director general is said to have commended their steadfast commitment, professionalism and hard work while exhorting to continue the good work.
During the address, he is also said to have presented the DGAR Banner to Mighty Six Assam Rifles Battalion for their outstanding all-round performance.
