Dimapur, May 20 (EMN): A team of Assam Rifles launched a crackdown on a deep-rooted nexus of illegal foreign-make weapon smuggling in specific areas of Dimapur, Nagaland on May 17-18 and arrested three underground cadres after multiple search operations.
The arrested have been identified as SS Maj Tonivi Swu (39) from Zunheboto district, Hukuto Tokishe (42) from Tuensang district, and SS Leacy Kiviho Kiva (50) from Dimapur, according to an update from Press Information Bureau (Defence Wing).
The AR recovered three pistols, one rifle, ammunition and other incriminating materials, which were handed over to East Dimapur Police Station along with the three arrested on May 18 night for further investigation.
