Dimapur, May 7 (EMN): Kiphire battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted an operation along with police representative at ‘A’ Vongtsuvong under Kiphire district on May 7.
According to press release from the troop’s authority, one NSCN (R) cadre was apprehended in possession of arms and ammunition during the operation.
The individual was identified as ‘S S Lt.’ Lensu, son of Nyingshu and a resident of Mutongre village.
One muzzle loading rifle, four 12 bore rounds, six point 303 used carts, one camouflage pattern shirt, two Pkts muzzle loading Wpn powder, seven blank NSCN (R) extortion slip, four NSCN (R) docus and one mobile set were stated to have recovered from his possession.
The person along with the items was handed over to Pungro Police Station for further investigation, the press release informed.
