Dimapur, May 7 (EMN): Based on specific information about the presence of armed cadres, 36 Assam Rifles launched an operation at Midland, Jalukie and Dimapur on May 5.
During the operation nine NSCN (IM) cadres including Captain, Atum Newme were apprehended who were in possession of large quantity of warlike stores.
According to 36 Assam Rifles, troops recovered four AK-56 Rifles, 01 AK -47 Rifle, 01 carbine, 01 9mm Pistol, 01 7.65mm Pistol, 01 12 Bore, 01 .22 Rifle and 01 Air Gun. Cadres were also found in possession of 5 Chinese grenade, 9 AK magazines, 1 Motorola, 3 antennas, 115 rounds AK ammunition, 101 rounds of 7.62 5 rounds of .38, 5 rounds of 7.65 and 2 rounds of 12 Bore gun.
The apprehended cadres along with seized items were handed over to Jalukie Police Station for further investigation.
