In view of the massive landslide at New Chümoukedima (erroneously called PAKALA PAHAR) area near Chathe Bridge which is taking a week to clear the mudslide, I as a concerned citizen of the area would like to appeal the concerned contractors and the state government to work hand in glove so as to clear the road at the earliest.
I would also like to bring to the concerned authority that people living within the locality of Kukidolong down the New Chümoukedima side should be allowed to paddle to cross the mudslide area where conveyance are stationed on both side to transport the commuters. It may be mentioned here that, there are people with genuine reason as to procure edible ration for their families, school children’s taking the trouble to travel to finish their academic season examination, people with sick person etc. However, it is excruciating to witness or face various obnoxious comments from various law enforcing agencies while passing through. Every human whether rich or poor, driving an SUV or riding a bicycle, living in the town or jungle should be treated equally.
It is commendable to appreciate the New Chümoukedima Village and its Youth for their yeoman service in such time when nature distraction calls for. They were the first person to attend most of the calls under their jurisdiction and provide charitable help to any person or persons as and when need arises under any circumstances.
Hence, we request the concerned authority to respect one another and have good gesture towards one another so as to maintain cordial relations and foster better living.
