Dear ma’am /sir,
I write to respectfully request the Government of Nagaland, P&AR department, directorate of Treasuries & Accounts, Accountant General (A&E) and banking institutions to ensure the release of pensions by the 26th, or alternatively, to approve and sanction the required funds before government offices close for the holidays.
Pensioners have faced considerable hardship when pensions are delayed or withheld during exigencies. When government offices and banks close for holidays, even minor delays in processing or fund release result in pensioners being left without income for several days or weeks. For elderly pensioners, this creates serious difficulties in meeting daily household expenses, purchasing medicines, and managing essential needs.
Most lower middle-class and average pensioners depend entirely on their monthly pension as their sole source of income. After Christmas, pensioners also face unavoidable New Year expenses, including household provisions, utilities, and family obligations. Delayed pensions during this period cause financial stress, anxiety, and indignity for those who have served the government for decades.
In view of these concerns, I humbly request the government authorities and banks to coordinate and ensure that pensions are released by the 26th, or that sanction orders and fund approvals are completed in advance so that pensions are credited on time despite holiday closures.
This considerate step would provide much-needed relief and dignity to pensioners during the festive season.
Yours sincerely,
A concerned citizen.
