Kohima, Nov. 18 (EMN): Against the backdrop of the decision of the Angami Public Organization (APO) to disallow any sort of protest, agitation or disruption under its jurisdiction and the subsequent criticism it drew even from some elders of the community and the APO’s own advisory board, the organization’s executive council on Saturday asserted that any decision taken by the council would remain final and binding in matters relating to the APO.
A fresh statement from the organization informed that the decision was reaffirmed during an emergency meeting of the APO executive council comprising the WAPO, NAPO, SAPO, CPO, AMK, AGOK, ASA, AYO, ASU, and the governing body of the APO, along with the executive members, at the APO's office on Nov. 18.
“The meeting resolved to affirm once and for all that the press statement issued by the Governing Body of the APO on the 11th and 15th November stands valid without any unreasonable doubt or question as these statements containing its declarations were based on APO standing resolution of 3rd February, 1996,” the statement explained.
While stating that the council remains open to all valued advice and respects the opinion and suggestions made by various individuals or concerned citizens, the organization appealed for ‘sensible love and concerned advice be confined within the parameter of our hearths.’
“The executive council also unanimously reaffirmed that any decision/decisions taken by the executive council shall remain final and binding in any matters relating to the Angami Public Organization,” the statement added.
The press statement was issued by the APO's Vice President Pfükhrielie Peseyie and General Secretary Keviselie Lhousa.
