Kohima, June 11 (EMN): The Agri Produce Marketing Committee (APMC), Pfutsero has appealed municipal town councils, police and private organisations not to levy tax on the locally produced agri products, stating that doing so would discourage the farmers.
The committee also appealed the public and underground factions to refrain from collecting tax on the local vegetables wholesalers at Murgi Patti, Dimapur, while asserting that it is the only way for farmers to earn a livelihood.
In a press release APMC Pfutsero chairman, Sanyi Dukri, informed that cabbage harvested from Pfutsero area will be transported to Dimapur from June 12 onwards till November. In this regard, the chairman also made an appeal to various bodies to abstain from collecting tax for the welfare of the local farmers.
