Aoyimkum village celebrated its golden jubilee on the theme ‘Jubilee Aser Alangzukba’ (Jubilee and redeem) held at Aoyimkum village panchayat hall on December 29.

Speaking upon the theme ‘Jubilee Aser Alangzukba,’ pastor of Aoyimkum Basptish Arogo, Rev. I Temsu Aier stated that jubilee means liberty adding jubilee is a time to show love to the poor, a time to forgive one another and to rejuvenate faith in God.

While referring to a verse from the Bible, Aier stated one must stand fast in the liberty as God has made them free and not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Aier urged the gathering to ponder upon and see for themselves where they stand at this point of time.

Earlier during the celebration programme, the jubilee monolith and souvenir was unveiled by pastor of Aoyimkum Baptist Arogo, Rev. I Temsu Aier.

L Chubawati Imchen, lone surviving founder of Aoyimkum village, spoke about how the village was established and the difficulties they faced during its initial period and how they overcome them.
