Mokokchung, Nov. 1 (EMN): Ao kin asentenshi (Ao tribe revival) got underway at Imkongmeren Sports complex in Mokokchung town under the initiative of Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM). The three-day revival is being held irrespective of denomination on the biblical theme “Kibuba onuk asentenshijang” (T ken 85:6).
Speaking on theme “Revival in church,” Rev. Maong, Associate pastor, said the church is anointed by Christ and not by humans and He chose us for His purpose and a reason. He, therefore, said Aos as a tribe need to retrospect and rectify their wrong doings in order to attain His blessings.

He also said that looking at the calendar of events of Ao churches, it was filled with various activities and programmes but the followers and members are diminishing day by day because the personal relationship between us and God have become frail. He asked the gathering to confess their sins, purify their life and build stronger bond with God.
“In Nagaland, we talk about the evils of corruption but we should understand that it is the church which is involved in this practices as every Nagas are Christians and we are all representatives of the church we are affiliated to and we have made the materialistic pursuance of wealth our new found God,” he added.
He also said that the time has come for the church leaders and the faithful to confess ones sins and renew a holistic relationship with God.
The function was chaired by Rev. Sangyula, Associate Pastor, and Rev. Dr. Mar Atsongchanger, Executive Secretary ABAM, delivered the welcome speech. Rev. Dr. Noklen, President ABAM, exhorted the gathering on the purpose behind the Ao tribe revival.
