DIMAPUR — The Ao Students’ Union Dimapur (ASUD) has reaffirmed its commitment to addressing issues impacting students, educators, and the community.
In a press release, the ASUD highlighted pressing issues, including justice for teachers, youth violence, the Pimla case, and protection of indigenous rights.
Expressing solidarity with the 2016 batch of RMSA graduate teachers in their rightful demand for justice, the union lamented that despite clear rulings from both the Gauhati High Court and the Supreme Court, the state government has failed to implement the court’s directives.
“This deliberate delay not only amounts to contempt of court but also reflects a disturbing disregard for teachers who have been faithfully serving since 2016,” it stated.
The union also condemned the rising incidents of bullying and assault among students and young people in Dimapur.
“Such acts of violence and intimidation have no place in our society and directly undermine the values of discipline, respect, and brotherhood that we seek to uphold,” it stated.

“ASUD makes it clear that if any individual found to be involved in such acts belongs to the Ao student community, the Union will not remain a mere spectator. Firm disciplinary measures will be taken against the erring individuals, as no one will be allowed to tarnish the name and integrity of our community.”
The ASUD also extended full support to the Zeliangrong Youth Organisation Nagaland (ZYON) and allied bodies in their pursuit of justice for the victim of the Pimla murder case.
“It is deeply disturbing that even after months, the culprit walks free on bail while the victim and her grieving family continue to suffer without justice. This failure not only exposes the weakness of our justice delivery system but also erodes public faith in governance and the rule of law.”
Further, the union backed the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) in its fight against the “egregious wrongdoing of Nirmal Jain.”
The ASUD urged the authorities concerned to expedite legal actions, annul all improperly acquired documents and properties, and ensure that Nirmal Jain and any complicit entities are held accountable.
“The dignity of Naga land rights and institutional integrity demands no less,” it added.
