Ao Students’ Conference welcomes move to revive Tuli Paper Mill

  • MOKOKCHUNG — The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has expressed support for the revival of the Nagaland Pulp & Paper Corporation Limited (NPPCL) under its new parent company, 3A Capital Services Ltd.

  • In a press statement on Monday, AKM hailed the development as a landmark achievement in fulfilling Mokokchung district’s long-standing dream of industrial rejuvenation and economic advancement.

  • The student body extended its full backing to Nagaland’s chief minister, commending his efforts to spearhead industrial growth in the region.

  • It said that during his visit to Tuli on March 12, the chief minister reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to restoring NPPCL’s operations in collaboration with 3A Capital Services Led.

  • “We deeply appreciate his visionary leadership in turning this long-awaited revival into reality,” the AKM stated.

  • While celebrating the milestone, AKM stressed the need for vigilance to ensure the project’s success. The organisation called on the government of Nagaland to implement strict measures to safeguard NPPCL’s land across Mokokchung district and other parts of the state from encroachment.

  • “Protecting this land from unauthorised occupation is critical for the smooth execution of the revival process,” the statement urged, highlighting potential obstacles to industrial progress.

  • AKM also appealed to local communities and stakeholders to support the restoration of NPPCL, emphasising its potential to generate employment, stimulate economic growth, and benefit both the district and the state at large.

  • The organisation pledged its commitment to collaborate with the government to ensure the project’s successful implementation, underscoring its dedication to the greater good of Mokokchung and Nagaland.
