- MOKOKCHUNG — The
Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) on Saturday issued a stern directive to KC Infra
Projects Pvt. Ltd., ordering an immediate halt to all construction activities
at Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) in Mokokchung, effective
May 31, until a designated evaluation team conducts a thorough inspection and
grants clearance.
- The move follows concerns over ongoing repairs to structural
cracks despite a pending assessment, raising fears of compromised safety and
quality.
- In a statement addressed to the Guwahati-based contractor,
AKM expressed alarm that construction and repair work continued at the site,
ignoring calls for a technical evaluation.

- “Until and unless the evaluation team conducts a thorough
inspection and provides official clearance, all construction activities must be
halted immediately and remain suspended until further notice,” the statement
declared, emphasising transparency and adherence to standards.
- The AKM warned that failure to comply would force the
conference to escalate actions, signalling potential protests or legal
measures.
- “We urge KC Infra
Projects Pvt. Ltd. to cooperate and demonstrate responsibility by adhering to
this directive without delay,” the statement added.
- The hospital project, sanctioned in 2018 under the National
Health Mission with a INR 13.70 crore budget, has faced criticism for delays,
substandard materials, and structural flaws, including visible cracks reported
during a May 21 inspection.
