MOKOKCHUNG — The Ao Students' Conference (AKM), in collaboration with Child Helpline Mokokchung, launched a hostel inspection drive across Mokokchung town on Thursday.
The drive aims to evaluate the living conditions, safety standards, and overall welfare of students staying in various hostels in the area.
AKM Education Secretary Imlikokba Kichu stated that the inspections would be carried out in phases, covering all hostels in and around Mokokchung.
He informed that through this initiative, the conference seeks to ensure students have a safe, healthy, and conducive living environment. He added that the exercise also focuses on raising awareness about child protection and the support services offered by Child Helpline.

Kichu added that once the inspection drive is completed, the AKM will thoroughly review feedback collected from both students and hostel proprietors. Based on the inputs, the conference plans to formulate a comprehensive policy to promote student well-being and holistic development within a well-regulated hostel ecosystem.
