Kaketshir Telongjem Guwahati following the signing of the memorandum of
understanding on Saturday.
- DIMAPUR — Ao Kaketshir Telongjem Guwahati, an
affiliate of the Naga Students' Union, signed a memorandum of understanding
(MoU) with Apollo Excelcare Hospital, Guwahati, on Saturday to enhance blood
donation and transfusion services in Guwahati.
- According to an update, the collaboration aims to ensure the
timely availability of blood for critical medical emergencies, particularly
benefiting the Ao Naga community.
- Under the MoU, the union will organise regular voluntary
blood donation drives to meet the community's needs. The hospital will provide
the necessary infrastructure for blood storage, conduct safety tests, and
ensure that the blood is made available for emergency use without
discrimination.
- Additionally, the hospital will offer medical assistance to
blood donors, provide refreshments, and issue voluntary blood donation
certificates.
- Thaomunglung Chukhrungfa, chief operating officer of Apollo
Excelcare Hospital, lauded the initiative, while Arnab Jyoti Das, public
relations officer of Apollo Excelcare Hospital, mentioned that both parties are
committed to raising awareness about the importance of blood donation through
coordinated campaigns and ensuring that the collection, storage, and
transfusion processes comply with all medical standards and regulations.
- Other important functionaries of the hospital present during
the MoU signing ceremony were Dr. Kasturi Kalita, in charge of blood
transfusion services; Ronak Poddar, chief financial Officer; Manoranjan Kalita,
general manager of marketing; and Pradip Kumar Purbey, company secretary.
