Dimapur, September 23 : The Ao Senden has resolved to dissociate its membership from Naga Hoho until the latter revokes its consent on Rongmei recognition issue. The decision to this effect was taken by Ao Senden Federal Council today, Ao Senden vice president O Shilu Jamir and S Panger Ao informed in a release. Putting forward its contention leading to the decision, the Ao Senden said two Naga Hoho member tribes (Ao Senden and Sumi Hoho) along with Lotha Hoho comprising three Nagaland tribes (CNTC) served an ultimatum to Naga Hoho to withdraw its consent on recognition of Rongmeis as one of the Naga indigenous tribes of Nagaland. But, the Ao Senden said, the Naga Hoho “chose to undermine the same” and therefore the three Hohos resolved at a meeting on August 24, 2016 to disassociate their membership from Naga Hoho. On Thursday, the Ao legislators appealed to the Ao Senden to reconsider and not to take any hasty decision on withdrawing from Naha Hoho, especially at this juncture when the Naga political talks with the Government of India is at a crucial stage. The Sumi Hoho had declared its dissociation from Naga Hoho on September 10 while Lotha Hoho had on September 5 issued a public declaration of dissociation with it. The Lotha Hoho also clarified that there is no representative of the Lotha tribe in the Naga Hoho. Sumi legislators plea to Sumi Hoho The Sumi legislators have appealed to the Sumi Hoho to reconsider their decision to disassociate from the Naga Hoho in the interest of the Nagas as a whole. Keeping in mind the ongoing lndo-¬Naga political dialogue where all the Nagas are stakeholders and equally responsible for the smooth and positive outcome of the political peace process, Minister for PWD (R&B) Y Vikheho Swu and Minister for PHED Tokheho Yepthomi, on behalf of the Sumi legislators, in the appeal today said any misunderstanding amongst the Naga family may jeopardize the political peace process. The Sumi legislators also suggested that any issue within the Naga family should be resolved through discussion and consultations and not through other means. Kyong Region NSCN/GPRN appeals to Lotha Hoho Considering the past positive contributions of Lotha Hoho in the formation of Naga Hoho as a pioneering member and for peaceful coexistence of the Lothas with other Naga brothers and sisters, the Kyong Region workers of NSCN/GPRN, after a detailed discussion, unanimously resolved to sincerely appeal to Lotha Hoho to reconsider its decision to disassociate from Naga Hoho in the larger interest of the Nagas Taking serious note of the disassociation of Lotha Hoho from Naga Hoho, the Kyong Region officials of NSCN/GPRN held a meeting on September 22 in Wokha to deliberate and retrospect on the matter, Chonbenthung Lotha, caretaker/CAO, Kyong Region, NSCN/GPRN, said in a release today.
