Mokokchung, June 27 (EMN):
A dictionary of Ao idioms titled “1001 Olong Ratet,” written by S Wati Ozüküm, was formally released at Kohima on June 27.

The book was released by Sentisashi Aier, pastor of Kohima Ao Baptist Church, in the presence of the proprietor of Woods Publishers, Repalemzüng Longkumer.

The book contains 1001 idioms in Ao Naga language in alphabetical order. The meaning and interpretation of each idiom is provided for the reader to understand its contextual usage.

The 270 pages book is priced at INR 599 but would be sold at an introductory price of INR 500 each, the writer informed, adding that the discount was on account of the prevailing economic scenario owing to the lockdown.

The book is believed to be the most comprehensive dictionary of Ao idioms ever published till date. The writer, S Wati Ozüküm, expressed hope that the book would be a “treasure trove” for readers as well as all those who are interested in studying the Ao language.
