DIMAPUR, MARCH 24
An advertisement inviting applications for vacant teachers’ post, which was issued by the state government on March 22 last, has invited censure from major Ao organizations.
In the advertisement, the state Mission Director of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) had invited applications for, among others, 16 vacant posts of teachers of Ao language.
On Thursday, the Ao Senden and the Ao Students’ Conference reminded the state government that a similar advertisement had “created much chaos and confusion” when it was issued by the same agency on January 27 last.
“On this regard the Ao Senden and the Ao Students’ Conference met at the Chief Minister’s level on February 25, 2016 to resolve the issue yet the department on March 22, 2016 has advertised on the matter,” stated a press statement from the two organizations.
This, it stated, was in “total contrary” to the talks held “at CM’s table” on February 25 last.
“Therefore the apex organizations totally reject the current advertisement made and urge all the Aos not to apply for the said posts till an amicable solution to this issue is made as per the decision made thereof at CM’s table and Aos as a whole.”
It also warned the department concerned that it would be held responsible in the event of any “untoward incident” resulting out of this issue, and that the two organizations would resort to “stern action” if the state government fails to fulfill their demand.
