Kohima, Feb. 8: In continuation with its demand for chief minister, TR Zeliang to step down within three days, a state-wide poster campaign was organised today by the Nagaland Tribes Action Committee Kohima (NTAC) and the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC).
The poster campaign was held in almost all the districts and subdivisions, it was informed. Volunteers were seen pasting the posters along the stretch of the town, and on buses, taxis and private cars.
Security personnel watched as volunteers pasted the posters on the gates of Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Nagaland Legislative Assembly and near the chief minister’s residence.Talking to media persons, NTAC member, Dr P Ngullie said the decision to hold the poster campaign across the state was decided during the meeting held yesterday at APO hall, Kohima.
The poster campaign, he said was taken up to send a message to the people and provoke the thinking of the people on the demands of the Naga people.
On the allegation that the movement was instigated by people with vested interests, an official of NTAC said: “Many forces are trying to dilute the issue and derail the movement – the people’s movement.”
He said all the NTAC officials were there by virtue of their position in their respective communities to fight for the cause of the Nagas. He asserted that this fight was not just for one or two community, but the whole of Nagas, and that no divisive force could break them.
