
Food safety team during the Holi-anti adulteration drive in
Mokokchung town on Thursday.
- DIMAPUR — The
food safety team of Mokokchung zone led by Sukumlo Yanthan, food safety
officer, conducted a “Holi-anti-adulteration drive 2025” at Mokokchung Municipal
Council (MMC) marketing complex on Thursday.
- The anti-adulteration drive was conducted in pursuance to
the directive from Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) for a
nationwide special festive drive with regard to the upcoming Holi festival and
to ensure food safety, quality and prevention of adulteration,
- An update from the team stated that on-spot testing of food
items such as milk, ghee, edible oil, butter, rasgulla, gulab jamun etc. were
tested for adulteration as the demand for those products were high during
festive seasons.
- Meanwhile, the food safety administration of Kohima zone
also conducted a one-day online licensing and registration camp for food
business operators on March 11 and 12 at Sokhriezie market in Kohima and
Tseminyu town.
- The students of Government High School, Tseminyu, were also
made aware by demonstrating how to detect some food adulterations.
