An update issued on Aug. 26 informed that NEFL is India’s first-ever mixed-gender Futsal League that features six teams in total. The league is said to be played for over a period of seven days which will be on Aug. 31. NEFL is said to be the brainchild of Proclivity Sports and Recreation Pvt. Ltd (PSR), owned by Ranajit Mahanta and Biswajit Mahanta that aims to create and develop a sustainable foundation for the sport of Futsal as a sporting career alternative for the athletes of Assam and Northeast India.
