Dimapur, November 6 : A local organisation of teachers has expressed contempt for a teacher who allegedly accused a student of an unspecified offense that ultimately led to the torture of the latter.
Eventual reading on the issue by this news-desk suggests that the case could be related to the recent suspension of a police officer in Kohima who allegedly tortured a minor, who, again, was detained on reportedly false charges of theft.
The All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) issued a press release on Sunday vehemently condemning what they called an “irresponsible, absent minded and senseless act” of a graduate teacher whose alleged misinformation led to the torture of a class-11 student.
‘The ANSTA vehemently condemned the irresponsible, absent minded and senseless act of Khrovelhupe Koza, graduate teacher, whose distorted, baseless false allegation and misguided information (made) a sincere, innocent good student Shehuto Nakro, class eleven student of government higher secondary school of Seikhazou, Kohima, to suffer brutal physical and mental torture,’ the ANSTA stated in the press release.
The association has advised its fellow professionals in Nagaland to be careful to be seen by the society as responsible and respected individuals.
The organisation has urged the subdivision education officer of Chozuba, who is also the first information reporting officer, to take necessary action on the ‘irresponsible graduate teacher. The official should then “forward the action taken report” to the director of the School Education department at the earliest, the ANSTA stated.
The teachers have wished student Shehuto Nakro a speedy recovery.
