She noted that sports not only promote physical fitness but also instill essential values such as discipline, teamwork, and perseverance while fostering a spirit of healthy competition.
Kiba further acknowledged that events like this provide a platform to showcase talents, nurture character and foster unity among students from diverse institutions, ultimately contributing to their overall growth and development.
“As we mark 25 years of ANPSA Dimapur unit sports, this milestone is a testament to the dedication, vision and commitment to empowering young minds through sports and education," she said and expressed her appreciation for the tireless efforts of everyone involved in making this event a reality.

ANPSA Dimapur Unit President Asito Peseyie said that sports instill discipline, teamwork, leadership and respect, values that extend beyond the playing field. To mark the silver jubilee, the association has planned a series of sports events throughout the year, starting with the basketball tournament, followed by badminton, Math Olympiad, table tennis, Sepak takraw and culminating in an athletics meet at Greenwood Higher Secondary School in November.
"This will bring students from member schools together, fostering healthy competition and unity," he said. These events, he asserted, are set to boost youth development and strengthen Nagaland's sporting culture.

According to him, sports have evolved from just a hobby to a promising career path in the state. Opportunities have opened up, and many young Nagaland folks are now opting for sports as a career. He said it was proud to see local talents making their mark while reminding the students that success demands hard work and no shortcuts.
“Motivation sparks the fire, but habit fuels the journey. Turn hard work, practice and dedication into your habit and you will be unstoppable,” he encouraged.
