Dimapur, April 8 (EMN): Yet again, the Khelhoshe Polytechnic in Atoizu in Zunheboto district has been robbed. This time, clothes that were hung out to dry at the teachers’ quarters were stolen, a press release from the institute’s teachers stated on Saturday.
“On 5th April 2017, robbers have yet again robbed Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu even when the Academic session is in progress,” the updates stated.
The menace of theft at the institute has “gone beyond tolerance,” the teachers stated. The Khelhoshe Polytechnic Teachers Association (KPTA) has vehemently condemned the incident calling it “such uncivilised and barbaric act.”
The press release gave an account of the alleged theft: “In broad daylight, clothes that were left for sun-drying were stolen at a spree from three lecturer’s quarter. While the teaching fraternity was still trying to find out means to meet up the basic necessities which were stolen during the last winter / semester break, another devastating blow of robbery has hit KPA again.”
According to the organisation, the authorities of the institute and its faculty members are ‘tirelessly sacrificing their outmost services for up-lift and upgrade of the Institute, the present trend of unhealthy atmosphere is not at all favourable and detrimental to the on-going project envision for the young Naga generation’s future.’
The KPTA has again requested the authorities in concern to “expedite the ongoing process” of deploying one “full strength platoon” for the security of the Institute.
“The association also urges all the right-thinking citizen to condemn such acts and in turn render their full support and cooperation to the investigating Authority in booking the culprits,” the press release added.
