Town Baptist Church Youth Department will be hosting its Annual Youth Coffee House on Saturday, March 25 from 3:30 pm onwards with ‘The Gluttones’ as the lead worship team.
The Gluttones is an alternative pop/rock, synth pop and label their genre as “Schizophrenic pop” (also known as Schizoid pop) originating from Dimapur, Nagaland. The band was formed in the mid-September 2015 with Sholo Thong on the vocals, Nesavoyi Vese on guitars, Katovi Sumi (Alex) on the drums, Mulong Lkr on the bass and Binto Semy on the keys/synth, Imli Ao on synth 2 /music producer.
The Gluttones were one of the selected bands at the Hornbill International Rock Contest, 2015 and the very next year on 2016 was invited as the guest band, they gained a lot of fans for their on-stage performances. They were also featured on The Northeast Today magazine three times. TNT included them in their list of “10 Northeast bands to be watched out in 2016” The band was also selected to perform for first edition of Summer Beats Version 1.0, initiated by Blend Productions.
Apart from their show at the Hornbill International Rock Contest 2015, the band also performed at the Magnum Opus, a music and Art Festival organized by Act of Kindness in collaboration with North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Jesus Generation, HisPop, Abiogenesis’ Bumhum 10th anniversary celebration and Rough Road Session at Makers market and almost all the schools, colleges and universities in Dimapur.
The Coffee House TBC is a platform for some of the coolest local bands to teach out to the youth of Dimapur through Music and the Message of God. Speaker will be Pastor Wabang from Lighthouse Church Dimapur.
Youth Director of TBC, Nividi Kevichusa in a release stated that in previous years renowned bands like 24/7, Tali Angh and the Band, ANTB, We the Giants, Divine Connection, Incipit have all willingly volunteered to play for this cause to reach out to young people through their music and positive message and challenge from the Word of God.
The department offering free entry and free coffee has invited all youths to be a part of the day.
