Dimapur, August 30: The advisor of Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA), N. Thongwang Konyak Tuesday inaugurated the Anghya Outlet Stall (ENPO Coffee Shop & Retail Outlet), at Midway Resort, Tsiepama village.
The outlet is located on National Highway 29.
The outlet is aimed at facilitating the talented local artisans, particularly the Eastern Nagas, with marketing linkage for their products, informed Richard Belho of Zynorique Initiatives Society, who spearheaded the project.
After the inauguration, the advisor DUDA expressed hope that the outlet will have a far reaching affect in boosting the economy of the backward tribes in Nagaland.“This initiative will encourage and promote promising artisans among all the younger generation of our people. This stall will be a great window of opportunity for all the artisans to expose their talents and thereby become self-reliant,” Konyak said.
The outlet will welcome any products of the eastern Nagas. If the products remain unsold, it was informed that the concerned department and the Zynorique Initiatives Society will take the initiative to export it to Guwahati or even other mainland states, it was informed.
Along with the outlet there is a also a coffee shop, wherein, travellers are invited to visit the stall to refresh themselves for a cup of coffee as well as to buy the products of the Eastern Naga artisans.
