Kohima, Feb. 13: Replying to the NPF Kohima division’s statement that it would no longer participate in any activities of the Angami Public Organisation (APO) and Angami Youth Organisation (AYO), the three range units of the AYO including Northern Angami Youth Organisation (NAYO), Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) and Western Angami Youth Organisation (WAYO) have hit out at the NPF Kohima division for trying to malign the honour of the Angami tribe by making politically motivated statements.
In a joint press statement issued today, the three youth bodies said it was compelled to reply to the statement in the local dailies against the baseless statement issued by the party division couple of days back. “NAYO, SAYO and WAYO would like to state that the NPF Kohima division has never been part of our activities at any point of time nor it is welcome to any of our activities,” clarified the press statement appended by NAYO president Neizolie Rüpreo, SAYO president Neisizo Kuotsu and WAYO president Neidilhoutuo Sechü.
While acknowledging the cooperation of the intending candidates, both independents and those with tickets of political parties, for abstaining from filing their nomination to the ULB elections, the three youth bodies reminded the NPF Kohima division saying “this was made possible because of the wisdom of the individual intending candidates and not the NPF party.”
“It does not even seem to remember that it was the NPF led government that extended the dates for filing of nomination,” the release stated.
The three range units of AYO further reminded the executive members of NPF Kohima Division that the tribe was above all political parties.
“Irrespective of our political inclinations, we stand united as a tribe and no person(s) in any political party should attempt to malign the honour of the tribe by making politically motivated statements just to please their political masters,” the press statement said adding that “it is disgusted by the attempts of some politically motivated puppets in the NPF Kohima division who have stoop (sic) so low to lick anything that their political masters show them just to please their despotic masters.”
The three AYO range units has further invited the president and executive members of the NPF Kohima division to meet AYO and its range officials anytime at AYO office and substantiate their claim where APO or AYO have been politically motivated, if not, to stop issuing baseless statements.
