The Angami Students’ Union will organise its first cultural fiesta in Kohima on September 21 to promote Naga unity and harmony among tribal student bodies.
KOHIMA — The Angami Students' Union (ASU) will organise a cultural fiesta in Kohima for the first time on September 21, bringing together tribal student bodies settled in the capital under the theme “Together in Culture, Together in Harmony”.
ASU president Dziesevisie Nakhro announced this during a press conference on Tuesday, stating that the event would be held in collaboration with subordinate student bodies and tribal student bodies settled in Kohima.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will attend the programme as the chief guest. The event will also feature a solidarity message and greetings from the president of the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF), besides an exhortation by the president of the Angami Public Organisation.
Nakhro invited members of all tribal student bodies to participate in the fiesta, stating that the initiative aimed not only to promote culture but also to foster unity among Nagas.

“Through this cultural fiesta, we would like to pledge that Nagas are one, and Nagas should be united,” he said.
He observed that Nagas have developed differences and divisions arising from various forms of identity, pride and ego. The initiative, he said, was intended to encourage greater unity and harmony.
The cultural fiesta will be held at the Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima.
