Angami Students’ Union demands quality road before monsoon

  • DIMAPUR — The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) has urged the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) to take necessary measures in providing safety and quality road service before the onset of monsoon and warned that further negligence would compel the union to take strong united steps in defense of its people.

  • In this context, ASU has commended the Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) in raising the issue against the deplorable condition of road infrastructure. It added that their commitment to public welfare and the future of people was commendable and inspiring.

  • While taking due cognizance of the NHIDCL’s efforts in addressing various grievances put forth by the public, the union, however, expressed concern over the continued delay in the completion of crucial infrastructure projects.

  • It further stated that inaction during the monsoon would severely impact safety, connectivity and daily life of the people as a whole.

  • In another statement, ASU has sought cooperation and support from the parents and students towards the census enrolment of students studying outside Nagaland in various states and also members of its community under various subordinate bodies all over Nagaland.

  • It informed that ASU has embarked on a process to register members especially based in various cities to primarily gather the precise number of its people. In addition, it stated that the union required a systematic portal to keep tract of its community in times of difficulties or any situation.

  • It, therefore, appealed to all parents whose children are studying in the cities to immediately register their children with their respective unions in various cities.
