Dimapur, Jan. 22: The Angami Christian Revival Youth Association (ACRYA) will be celebrating its fifty years of existence, from January 25 to the 27th. The event will be conducted with the theme, “The Lord has done great things for us so we feel great joy,” at D-Khel ground, in Seikhazou with Christian Revival Church of Kohima village as the host of the programme.
During a a press conference, ACRYA President Kikruneilie Yiese said that the association will be celebrating fifty years of God’s love and faithfulness, not by might but by love and grace of the Almighty God; and through prayers and hard work of pioneers and leaders. The main speakers for the jubilee will be Rev. Dr. Neivotso Neikha, mission director, North east India CRC; Rev. Dr. Neikedozo Paphino, president, NCRC; and Kehoulelie Zatsu, travelling pastor, Naga hospital colony, CRC.
Speaking about the genesis of the association, Yiese said that the association was founded in 1669. He said there are five units of the association namely the Northern Angami Christian Revival Youth Fellowship, Southern Angami Christian Revival Youth Fellowship, Chakhro Christian Revival Youth Fellowship, Western Angami Christian Revival Youth Fellowship, and the Kohima Town Christian Revival Youth Fellowship.
The organizing committee’s convener Neikuosielie Rhiepfii said that the second day of the jubilee will be dedicated to youth-themed activities: hosting a youth festival, a talent programme and seminars where noted personalities from different vocations will interact with the youths. They are contractor Vilelie Khamo; Kikrukuolie Kire, deputy director for Veterinary & Animal Husbandry; Pusanyii Riipreo, first joint secretary; and Neisevo-ii Linyii, first treasurer.
A member of the organizing committee, Vizotuonyii Suokhrie, said that the committee was expecting a minimum of 5000 delegates and that work was on to prepare guest rooms for 2000 guests.
It was informed that a bus service from the local ground to the venue would be arranged, which will be a free service. They requested members coming by private vehicles to park their vehicles at the local ground; and to commute by bus to be free from traffic and parking problems.
The officials informed that the jubilee’s commemorative monolith will be unveiled at 2 pm at the ACRCC Mission Centre following the opening ceremony at D.Khel ground at 4:30 pm.
