Dimapur, Jan. 20 (EMN): The Angami Catholic Youth Association (ACYA) 31st convention being held under the theme “Celebrating Faith, Celebrating Culture” at Mary Help of Christians Cathedral entered day two.
Speakers for the day’s programme were Rovilatuo Nicholas, IAS, Richard Belho and Kezhasezo Kenneth. They spoke on prospects in civil services, enhancing livelihood through development, and teaching as a career option under the theme “passion in my profession.” A press release from organisers on Sat. informed about the event.
Mor spoke about the various aspects and responsibilities as an administrative officer. He highlighted different steps and designations when a person clears NCS, NPSC, UPSC and competitive exams. He shared his own experiences as an administrative officer citing examples of incidents such as tribunal clashes, factional clashes, etc.
Mor also emphasize on responsibilities that one have to shoulder and face in order to maintain law and order.
“An administration officer has the most difficult job, the most tested but most satisfying profession,” he added.
Pointing out the ever increasing unemployed youths, Belho challenged the youths to think beyond government jobs, dream bigger and take risks.
“Productive skills are ingrained in the DNAs of Nagas but most of the time, we tend to take the shortcut route,” he said.
Belho called on the youths to open their minds and change their outlook and think innovatively.
“We need a change of heart, look to God and give an extra time to pick up a new skill,” he added.
Kezhasezo Kenneth said ‘amid the ever growing development and innovations in the society that has given rise to a thousands of new profession and streams, teaching is a profession that will keep on going and continue to flourish.’
Sharpen your skill and ability, then even the simplest position will enable and drive you towards greater opportunities, he said.
Kenneth urged the youth to take up teaching as a profession to enhance the prevailing society and create a more meaningful society.
Folk song and debate competitions, skit and songs presentations from Southern, Western, Northern and Kohima town regions marked the day’s event.
