Dimapur, June 1
The All Nagaland Electricity Field Workers Association (ANEFWA), Dimapur Zone, has resolved to call for complete power shutdown if any of its members get life threatening calls or manhandled by any public during duty.
The All Nagaland Electricity Field Workers Association, Dimapur Zonal Members, made this public information with the arrival of mid-summer when the usage of electricity is high for which the transformer get over loaded within no time resulting in load shedding and failure of power supply of HT and LT Lines which take time to restore.A joint press statement issued by the Association president Talimoa and the general secretary Mego Angami said as a responsible department, the association understood the hardship the public are facing (due to power cut oft) adding it is trying its best to restore the power supply as earlier as possible and at the best as we could.
It lamented that despite working days and nights (24x7) throughout the year leading to skipping of meals and sleeps, some members who are on duty round the clock at control room, maintenance work and fuse call room were manhandled and threatened even to the extent of killing.
The Association has made humble request to fellow citizen to co-operate with its staff in restoring power failure instead of harassing and manhandling them.
