ANDMSA to continue state-wide agitation

Dimapur, Nov. 29 (EMN): With no positive response from the government, the All Nagaland District Ministerial Service Association (ANDMSA) has decided to continue with its state-wide pen down and computer shut down agitation till December 8. The association has threatened to go on a mass casual leave beginning from December 11 if the government fails to address their grievances. This was stated in a joint press release issued by the association president Shilumenba, vice president Alinger Inato Sangtam, and the general secretary T Limhachan Kithan. It may be mentioned here that the association had launched a three-day first phase agitation which expired on November 29. The three-day agitation passed off peacefully without report of any untoward incident. Meanwhile, the association has requested all the units and members to be more vigilant in their respective areas. It warned that any non ministerial employee found engaging/handling in ministerial duties/ job by nature would be held responsible in the event of any untoward incident. The association has further requested all the employees and DDO to co-operate and respect the sentiments of the association. The association has, meanwhile, expressed its regret for inconveniences caused to the public. In a separate statement, the Phek unit of ANDMSA has resolved to continue its pen down and computer shutdown agitation along with the rest of the state till December 8 called by ANDMSA parent body. In a press release the unit president, Ketholuhu Tetseo, and the general secretary, Veto Hoshi, stated that the unit had successfully implemented the first phase of agitation. It has thanked the district administration and all DDOs/ HODs for their cooperation rendered towards the unit. The unit has also expressed gratitude to the officials of CANSSEA Phek unit for their financial contribution besides moral support and cooperation rendered. The unit has requested all member from various departments to strictly adhere and participate in the ongoing agitation till further notice. It further appealed the public of Phek district to bear with the inconvenience. In yet another statement, the Dimapur unit of ANDMSA has called a pen down and computer shutdown in Dimapur district from November 30 till December 8 to be followed by three-day mass casual from December 11 to 13 till further direction from the action committee. The unit has informed all the department heads, DDOs and Head assistant or SDHA not to assign any ministerial employees to work during the course of its agitation and not hold them accountable for dereliction of work. Meanwhile, ANDMSA Dimapur Unit has convened an emergency general meeting on November 30 at Tourist Lodge at 9 am. The unit general secretary M Zachamo Ezung and the information secretary Akaito Jimo have requested all the ministerial staff and department representatives to attend the proposed without fail. It further informed all the concerned departments to submit membership and welfare fund latest by December 10 at Control Room, Tourist Lodge, Dimapur.
