Dimapur, Nov. 3 (EMN): One of the most exciting attractions of the ten-day Hornbill Festival, apart from artists and musicians, is the hot air balloon rides at the Hornbill Music Festival 2019, at the Agri Expo at 4th Mile in Dimapur.
On the first two days, registration for the balloon ride was INR 1000 but it is discounted to INR 700 per ride from Tuesday, December 3, as the crowd was less during the first two days. This was informed by the CEO of ‘Three Guys Adventure,’ Maninder Kalsi.
Speaking to
Eastern Mirror, he expressed optimism that people would come and enjoy the balloon rides in the coming days as the festival is still in its initial days since having started, and even more so for those wanting to fly on the balloons after the reduction of the fee.
The hot air balloon is anchored to the ground with ropes. In the coming years the organisers are planning to acquire free fly hot air balloons so that people can enjoy flying in the balloons, he informed.
About the hiring charge for the hot air balloon, Kalsi said they charge INR 40,000 per day. The organisers provide 100 to 150 rides per day. For now, they manage only the technical aspects. All the fee arrangements are done by the authorities who hired them.
Kalsi informed that the hot air balloon weight around 600 to 700 kilo gram and transported on a truck. The group is said to be the only company in the Northeast region providing hot air balloon rides.
As for the name of the company, ‘Three Guys Adventure,’ Kalsi explained he is an animal lover and has two dogs, and that he is an adventurous person. That’s how the name of his company came about.
Kalsi said there is more to tourism in the Northeast as it has not been fully explored. The region is one of the best places to experience adventure. He said to have participated in many festivals in the Northeast including this year’s festival ‘Ziro’ in Arunachal Pradesh.
He said to be working on a tourism adventure documentary with Rann Vijay, winner and host of the show Roadies, in the coming years to promote tourism in the Northeast region.
